ALPHA Bangura came back from his usual scoring mood Wednesday but couldn’t save Air21 from sinking to its fifth straight loss in the 36th Philippine Basketball Association Governor’s Cup after absorbing an 86-93 loss against Meralco at the Araneta Coliseum.

Bangura knocked in 31 points and five rebounds, while Danny Seigle and Wynnie Arboleda had 17 and nine points, respectively, but the lacked of strong frontline remained to be the Express problem when they took up Paul Asi Taulava and Gabby Espinas.

Air21 remained at the bottom of the standings with a 0-5 record, but had now lost eight straight counting the three-game sweep it suffered in the PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals against eventual champion Talk 'N Text.

Despite the setback, the Express vow to fight back.
